One of my favourite

Bak Chor Mee in Punggol. 肉脞面。

The big meat ball is very nice. The generous ingredients, the braised mushrooms, meat slices and the lards! Love the noodle texture and the chilli

and everything that integrates with the noodles.

Comfort breakfast! One more thing, I love their dang cai 冬菜, a kind of salted preserved vege, usually a favourite for Teochews 潮州人。

! Ordered one Egg Prata & one Kosong. The Plain Prata is fuffly & airy , perfectly pan-fried, not oily. The way I like it

[Halal] $5 Ayam Goreng Berempah !!

Ordered Number 2 on their menu, Ayam Goreng Berempah $5. Add otah $1. The fried chicken is very nice, a big piece. The crust is thin, not those thick thick type. When I was there, they were constantly frying the chicken as there are many orders. So when I got my order, the chicken is still hot & warm.

Basmati Rice is , Sambal Chilli is really good, but one thing I don’t understand is why they gave me 2 portion of the sambal Chilli ? Is it usual? I doubt I only managed to finish one portion.

After eating, Tabao back 2 packets of Ayam Goreng Berempah. No extra packing charges. Total tabao = $10. They used paper wrap instead of styrofoam boxes. Save the world too ! The guy in front of me also tabao 2 packets of Number 2. Same same.

Had a little chat with the lady in pink. Think she is the boss. They have 10 branches in Singapore.

Ordered half plate of rice plus 4 colourful vegetarian dishes. The

red “char siew” and purple brinjal

definitely caught my eyes. Wanted to order a

green vege dish to complete my colourful Cai Png, but I realised I had already 4 dishes. And I didn’t order 齋鹅。

I thought the char siew would be bland, it turned out very flavourful. All the dishes were delicious.

Besides this Cai Png dishes (also can eat with their fried bee hoon), they have dim sum & Zichar Cze Cha style Ala Carte dishes too.

Zichar dishes like Hor Fun , Fried Rice, Steam “Fish”, Braised “Duck”, Yam Ring.

“Prawns” etc. 水饺面，桂花面，萝卜糕 etc.

They have an aircon seating area of about 12-14 tables (4pax each) and a round table for (6-7pax).

(On a side note: Fu Hui Link has Buddhist Welfare Services, you can donate for charity too.)

This dry Bak Kut Teh claypot was recommend by our members Florence Yong. It is number 2 on its menu.

Nice! The thickened dark sauce taste good with the lady fingers. I wanted to order the braised beancurd skin, but unfortunately it is out of stock. Remember to use NTUC app for a 10% discount.

Ordered 2 Ribeye Steaks and a beer and stout ! River facing outdoor alfresco seating area. On some good days, you can watch really beautiful sunset The aircon area inside was quite packed when we visited on a Sunday night. I think they have live bands during the weekends with a lot of 80s & 90s songs. A family friendly place. Besides western food & chicken wings, they have pizza as well as Chinese eats too.

A popular place for cyclist & runners as it is located besides the PCN park connector.

We were sitting at this shop drink fruit tea. Then one lady popped by to order Mango Pomelo Sago and Sweet Red Bean Sago Latte. We had a little chat and the way she described these 2 desserts is so good that we ordered Mango Pomelo Sago to try.

The soup is very flavourful

, with the fried lard. Nice meat balls! Finished the whole bowl of soup.

My mum in law said the Kway Teow is very smooth. Nice.

Our order: Bak Chor Mee Kia & Kway Teow $4.50 small. Paid using NTUC app with 10% discount. So about $4.05 per bowl. Saw some eating their dry version, looks good too.

On the way back after breakfast, my client wanted to Taobao 面煎粿for his wife from Lor Ah Soo Hawker. (Old lovely couple

I told him Punggol also have very good 面煎粿 , and brought him to this pancake stall in 312A Sumang! I told him that this petite lady chef is the disciple of her auntie in Lor Ah Soo Hawker. This master disciple has many years of experience under her belt and has operated at this same 312A Sumang stall for many years single-handedly.

If you notice carefully, this stall in Punggol has more varieties: cheese, egg pancakes and many other modern flavour as the customer demographics in Punggol are younger.

Besides hot hot hot pancakes, her 银魚粥 silver fish porridge and Cheng Tng are also very popular.

Today, I ordered Xi Chup Hor Fun. 豉汁河粉. $6. Nice

It has been a long time since I ate at Leong Ji. I went near their stall where they have this Cai Por Chicken Porridge. I saw the man frying some dishes with lots of smoke coming off the wok.

I asked if they have Cai Por Kway Teow. The staff said no, so after going through their menu, I decided on 豉汁河粉.

The 豉汁河粉 was good, but the wok hei is not strong for this dish. However the sauce is flavourful and a little salty. Nice & appetitizing.

One of the very decent Cze Cha stalls in Punggol. Google rating above 4. Btw, pls do not be alarm if you are charged 9% GST on top of the prices listed on their menu.

Last week I ate this, and today I tabao-ed the same! For 兴化炒米粉, besides the fresh ingredients, the bee hoon is one of the most important ! It is Super thin type, 很幼!

When u eat the thin bee hoon, you will know it is of a higher grade. The chef skills is

. The thin bee hoon absorbs the goodness from the fresh prawns and flower clams, meat & fried shallots

There are about 4-5 flower clams, looks very clean. Plenty of green veges and some peanuts. For $6.50, Portion is big , can be good for 2pax if you are small eaters. And most importantly, it is really nice

. Don’t forget their chilli marinade, it’s very good too.

If you pay by Breadtalk app, you have 10% discount, means the Xinghua Bee Hoon will cost $5.85.

If you do not know what to eat for lunch or dinner, you can come to try this stall! Hope it suits your taste buds.

If it is all wanton, then there is no char-siew, but got 5 wantons.

If normal (number 1 on their menu), I think it will come with 2 boiled wantons & 1 fried wanton & char siew.

Signage’s says “#1 Ang Gu Kueh in Singapore since 1988” . 3 boxes for $10, 4 boxes for $12. Most boxes have 2 pieces each, premium ones only 1 piece.

I was attracted by the colourful kuehs and have decided to buy some to try out for this afternoon tea break.

. I am excited to try out the pistachio fillings one which is the light green colour also as usually my favorite peanuts fillings Ang Ku Kueh.

The skin is indeed really good !!!! very thin, and soft!!! The fillings are packed & very flavourful !!! Love the premium pistachio angkukueh as well as the red peanut one.

Really One of the best ang ku kueh in Singapore.!!! You can try

Yummmy! One of my favourite noodles, I used to eat at their sengkang Blk 350 Anchorvale Branch too.

Ordered 1c on their menu: Sarawak Kolo Mee with dark sauce $4.50.

(Usually I order 1a (original), today I try their dark sauce version.)

Yummy! Very nice with the dark sauce!

I have been eating Sarawak noodles at these two Sarawak noodles stall in Sengkang and Punggol for many years now, and their noodles are quite consistent and they have the same two ladies helming the stall for many years !!!

Beware: Their chilli red chilli is very potent, but it is the star too!

I also added their green cut chilli padi and red cut chilli too.

And their Sarawak pepper powder also packs powder, you can purchase them form the stall too.

Was at this hawker waiting for someone, so decided to try this Prawn Paste chicken wings 虾酱炸鸡翅.

Heard their chicken wings are marinated for at least 2 days and double fried it with two different batter. The prawn paste wings were served hot hot hot ! Nice。

Love their guava, very very fragrant. Not sure where the get these guava. That is why I always buy from them. Their rock melons and other fruits are fresh too.

If you have no time for freshly cut fruits for health, then need to pay for convenience.

Dumplings are freshly made daily! For first timer, you may want to try their soup version.

If you look at their store front, there are 6 types of flavours:

Garlic sauce, peanut sauce, hot boiled, viral mixed sauce with chilli oil, Cantonese style soup, fiery spicy & tangy soup.

Today I ordered their signature Shrimp & Crab Roe Pork Wanton Noodles dry version. $7.80 Number 12 on their menu. The rest are priced around $6.80.

The staff didn’t asked me what flavour I want, so probably they gave me the default, no sauce and some soya sauce. I went to the sauce counter to top up and try the sauces.

Love their dumplings, prawn & ingredients are fresh

. Noodle textures are good, portion quite big.

Wow! The curry gravy was Yums ! 2 ngor hiang were delicious & the fried big dumpling

My wife birthday, googled breakfast cafe and found this lovely place that opens early and near Sengkang1.

Nice food & very friendly staff.

Ordered High Tea Set & Chicken Fajitas. The High Tea Set was not available on the breakfast menu, and the staff made an exception to do it for us. Originally it includes a piece of tiramisu, but it was not available in the morning, so they replaced it with a piece of brownies with our consent.

Super Nice Pineapple Tarts. You just cannot stop at one !!! Lena’s friend ordered 6 containers, took bus back home. By the time, she reached home, she only had got 5 containers left !!! SHE FINISHED ONE WHOLE CONTAINER on her bus trip !!!!

The story goes back 30+ years ago when Lena help out in her Mama’s Bakery shop in Boon Keng. She was only Sec 1 when she got her hands on baking and make aromatic tarts and biscuits.

Her Mama had a lot of Indonesian friends and travelled to Jakarta to learn from bakery Shifus the unique skills of baking Super Nice Pineapple Tarts. The Pineapple tarts are shaped like “beehives”, and these help to keep the tart fresh and their shelf life longer without preservatives.

Lena says Pineapple tarts at her mama shop was and is the Best !!! LIMITED QUANTITY PRODUCTION, WHILE STOCK LASTS.

A little chat with the male staff. This stall is affiliated to famous curry puff stall

at Hong Lim: Tanglin Curry Puffs since 1952.

Ordered 2. One Chicken Potato with egg & the other Sardine Potato (the one with red dot

). Packed into a brown paper bag.

I was very lucky, I reached about 8am when the stall churned out hot hot hot curry puff. You know I love food that are served hot.

If you google

Hong Lim curry puffs, you can find some family dispute & “which is original stall” stuff, which are pretty common to famous food stalls.

Most of us won’t really bother about these

. Most importantly, whether the curry puffs we get from this stall are nice !!! The ones in our hands!

i was roaming around deciding what to eat. The crowd in front of the stall caught my attention. Ok, I shall try tom yum noodle soup tonight since I had rice for lunch.

There are two kinds of ingredients you can pick, one category is for you to put into soup, another category will be deep fried and put into a separate bowl.

The tom yum soup is very power! Abit overwhelming for me! But tom yum soup should be like this, quite salty & spicy & sour .

The deep fried yong tau fu are very well done. Savoury. Think this is the differentiation between this stall and other usual yong taufu stalls

Nowadays I don’t always eat Fried Hokkein Prawn

Noodles. Need to be more health conscious as already young Senior.

But Hokkein Mee is still one of my son’s favourite. Today, he is at home, so thought of Taobao from him. So got an excuse to eat

I wanted to order 3 types of kuehs: Ku Chye, Soon Kueh & Png Kueh.

Png was sold out, so I replaced it with 2 Chwee Kueh

Chatted with the auntie stall owner in Teochew.

She opens her stall here @ 6.30am, daily. Half day work. Almost everything , they made by themselves including the chilli and dark sauce.

She said the Ku Chye & Soon Kueh skin can be even thinner, but if it is too thin, it tends to tear and cannot sell.

We talked about Soon Kueh using real Soon (Bamboo shoots)….that will be expensive…they don’t do it anymore.

The chat was suddenly cut short as i realised that a small queue had formed behind me

The uncles and aunty in front of me ordered their chee cheong fun + chwee kueh.

But I think their mini Png Kueh is the real hot favourite! It was sold out when I order.

Not sure if they have very limited supply. I came previously , Png Kueh was sold out too. Haha, one day… I will come at 6.30am.

My favourite personal Nasi Padang and Mee Rebus stall. They served very nice Lontong as well. Pricing is on a higher side, but it’s savoury culinary dishes and mee rebus gravy are what pulled me back to them once in a while when I miss Nasi Padang and Mee Rebus !

I was just looking around, and the crowd at this stall attracted my eyes, I looked at the menu and I just ordered what came to my mind, based on the signage.

Not the version of Xinghua Bee Hoon I used to eat, but quite Nice. Prawns

Ordered XO 炸鱼肉米粉 Fried Fish Meat Bee Hoon. Very Nice. This was recommended by my wife. We have patronised this Zichar stall for many many years. My favourite is their signature 咸鱼白米粉，三捞河粉，虾酱鸡 etc.

My wife recently tried one of their other signature: XO 炸鱼肉米粉 . I have not tried this as it was priced $7.50 and I eat fish soup at other stall.

Saw my wife tabao back a few times and she said many people ordered this XO fried fish meat bee hoon while she was ordering.

When I was in the queue ordering, I heard the lady in front of me also ordered this dish. And their signage that displays their business hours, also has this XO 魚头米粉。My wife prefer the 炸鱼肉than 鱼头, and by default, she said they will serve with milk.

Wow Wow Wow, I found about 6 large pieces of fried fish meat. Soup is very nice

, bee hoon smooth. Worth the calories!!! Value for money!

Imo, this Zichar stall is one of the best in Sengkang.

梅菜扣肉锅Braised Pork Mini Hotpot. Saw a couple enjoying these 2 mini hotpots at the food court. Ehhh… never seen these before, I asked them for details and where to buy.

One is the Pig Trotters & the other is Braised pork Ribs mini hotpot. Looks good. I asked them for permission to take photos!

Looks really good. Anyone tried? They served various Pig Organ’s dishes including soup and porridge.

Ordered 2 Lattes & Vegetarian Rendang Rice + Abacus seeds 算盘子 and Beetroot juice. Nice

I checked with my wife. There is no price list, when u order, then they give a total amount ($28 for 2 lattes, one big glass of beetroot juice, rendang rice and abacus seeds).

Then you donate (pay) into a donation box. She said they didn’t check how much you put.

Used to have price lists, think it was changed to a donation basis.

The porridge was served very hot

and the fried fritter hot hot too ! I love food that are hot hot hot !!!

The fried fritter is so crispy and dipping it in the hot porridge and eating the crispy fritter with porridge is a joy

I have not ate fritter for a long time! This is really good, but not so healthy.

I am a foodie, can’t have all food nice and healthy as most nice food are not so healthy

Too healthy, Life will be too bland

Need to eat unhealthy food sometimes , then try exercise abit more. Not so perfect, just need to balance. Life is a delicate balance

Pig Liver Minced Meat Chilli Mee Pok. i chose 6a on the menu. $5.80 Dry version is 50cents priced higher than soup version $5.30. The staff prepares the pig liver last, and he asked me on the doneness of the pig liver. I told him not too over cooked & not too raw, just nice

The chilli

is quite hot. Besides the liver, the chilli is the main character of this dish.

For Pig Liver lovers, you can try 8a on their signboard menu. I confirm with the staff and he says this stall is operating 24hours!

Came from B1 carpark lobby, and I noticed this shop was open. So I popped in.

Asked for their recommendations and was introduced many, but I selected only 3 as I am alone. Originally I wanted steamed ones, but the staff said these were exceptionally good, so I ordered!

. I must say they are really good !!! Something different.
