The Long Wait is Over !!!  One Punggol Hawker Centre is finally open on 31st October 2022.  Total of 34 stalls and more than 700 seats !   Hmmm, what to eat at One Punggol Hawker Centre?

One member of our Sengkang To Punggol Facebook group commented that she waited for 40minutes for her chicken wings.  Long queues and long waiting time are expected during the initial days.

One Punggol Hawker Centre definitely add a lot of new choices for foodies in Punggol and Sengkang residents / foodies in the north eastern region.  A Big Welcome !

Went for early dinner today at One Punggol Hawker. Thought of eating healthier…so shortlisted this stall after roaming around.

Browsed their menu…

Hmm… steamed fish or steam minced meat. Hmmmm….ok, go for steamed meat instead of fish.
Hmmmmmm….Steamed minced meat with salted fish or preserved vege…
Ok…go for steamed minced meat with preserved vege 梅菜蒸肉饼。

Someone was in front of me collecting his order, and Ay….looks good leh…

So I asked the lady staff what is the name of the dish her previous customer ordered.

And she said 金针银耳蒸鸡 Steamed Chicken with Lily buds and black fungus!

Ok, I want the same 🤣. So she gave me a buzzer and I waited for 15mins

(She asked me if I want to order tonic soup or value meal sets, those are ready-made and can give me immediately. But for the item I ordered, they need to prepare on the spot and get it steamed, takes about 15mins).

Nice 👍. Definitely a stall I would patronise when I am choosing healthier food.

Prior to visiting this stall, I read many reviews about this famous chicken wings… some good some bad.. there’s no right or wrong.

When I reached there at 8+am, the queue was short.
As for their famous chicken wing, I quite like it 🌟, still crispy at the edges of the drumstick area🍗 , still warm (fried not long ago). The bee-hoon mee was normal, Otah was quite nice 🌟.

At first, I wanted to order Number 2 (Dry) $4 on their signboard menu. The stall holder clarified that Dry version doesn’t come with soup. If I want soup, I would have to order Number 4 (Soup version) $5.

👌. Then I asked about their signature Number 1 , $8, dry noodle with a bowl of soup. Since it’s my first time trying, I decided to order Number 1.

Hmmm…. Nice smooth qq noodles ! With great chilli 🌶️, a bit more spicy than normal 🥰. Crispy Dried fish 👍.

And the soup 🌟. Pork & Liver perfectly cooked, can taste 👅 fresh juiciness of these ingredients. One meat ball and one Fuzhou fish ball. The 🌟 soup was 💥 power packed, I emptied the whole bowl of soup ! Sedap!

🌟🌟 really nice noodle with fresh ingredients in the star soup, just that the $8 price tag is on the higher side for hawker centre context.

You can order Number 4 (Soup version) $5 to give them a try. Or together with a $4 Dry Version, total $9 to enjoy the best of both worlds 😃.
