1) Macaroni Soup Recipe

My mum’s recipe for macaroni soup

Step 1: Fry the onions & marinated pork . The pork meat was marinated for 30 minutes, that’s the secret for extra flavour.
Step 2: Prepare the macaroni & ikan bills (anchovies) soup base. boil the macaroni until soft and the ikan bilis soup base for 20 minutes — this is where all the sweetness comes from.
Step 3: Blanch all other ingredients. Once the soup is ready, blanch the vegetables, prawns, and button mushrooms.
Step 4: Put everything together. Add the macaroni into a bowl, mushrooms, vegetables, prawns, some meat & its flavourful gravy. Then pour in the hot soup, and the fragrant fried onions.

Save this yummy recipe. Suitable for breakfast/ lunch or dinner.

2) Glutinous Rice Recipe

Auntie Lim’s Glutinous Rice. Secret Recipe:

1) Ingredients Preparation a) pork belly (~1 kg) b) mushrooms (5 Big ones) c) dried shrimps (~150g) Marinate a)b)c) with light & dark soy sauce and a little bit of salt. (Note: Aunty marinated this overnight for 16hours) d) 1kg glutinous rice (pre-soak two hours before cooking).
2) Stirfry Ingredients Fry Dried shrimps then mushroom and pork belly.
3) Add Glutinous Rice (Pre-soak for 2hours) Stir fry evenly. Add Light & Dark Soy Sauce. Add water. (~2 bowls of water) Refer to video for water level. When water is bubbling/boiling, test rice sauce to see if it’s good.
4) Steaming When the glutinous rice water get soaked up & reduces, transfer glutinous rice to a tin container for steaming. Steam for about 15-20minutes.

4) Steam Garlic Prawn Glass Noodle

Steamed Garlic Prawns Glass Noodles (Tang Hoon) Only 8mins to steam, a quick meal idea for lunch & dinner. Easy simple Recipe:

1) Put about 10 peeled prawns on glass noodles (abt 110g). Top up with 2 tbsp of minced garlic & some red chilli 🌶️ (optional) on the prawns.
2) Then pour in seasoning sauce which consists of: 2 tbsp of dark soy sauce 1 tbsp of light soy sauce 1 tbsp of sesame oil 2 tbsp of oyster sauce some pepper 200ml of water
3) Steam for 8mins until prawns are cooked. Add some cilantro. That’s it! Easy & quick recipe for lunch & dinner.

5) Japanese Beef Curry (Rice Cooker Series)

Rice Cooker Japanese Beef Curry. Very easy lunch/dinner recipe.

Put in the following ingredients in the rice cooker: – 1 cut onions – 1 cut carrots, – 3 tomatoes – ⁠2 cut potatoes – beef chuck (435g) – Japanese Curry Sauce Mix – 1 cup of water (abt 500ml)
Pro tip: if you want thicker curry, put lesser water or cook slightly longer.

Then cook in the rice cooker for 30mins. And give it a mix and you can mash the tomatoes. Then cook for another 10 minutes. Tip: if you want to have softer potatoes & carrots, cook additional extra 5-10mins more.

That’s it! Delicious Japanese Beef Curry is ready. Fast & Low effort & Easy recipe. Very Yummy, Enjoy!
