The soup is very flavourful

, with the fried lard. Nice meat balls! Finished the whole bowl of soup.

My mum in law said the Kway Teow is very smooth. Nice.

Last week I ate this, and today I tabao-ed the same! For 兴化炒米粉, besides the fresh ingredients, the bee hoon is one of the most important ! It is Super thin type, 很幼!

When u eat the thin bee hoon, you will know it is of a higher grade. The chef skills is

. The thin bee hoon absorbs the goodness from the fresh prawns and flower clams, meat & fried shallots

There are about 4-5 flower clams, looks very clean. Plenty of green veges and some peanuts. For $6.50, Portion is big , can be good for 2pax if you are small eaters. And most importantly, it is really nice

. Don’t forget their chilli marinade, it’s very good too.

If you pay by Breadtalk app, you have 10% discount, means the Xinghua Bee Hoon will cost $5.85.

If you do not know what to eat for lunch or dinner, you can come to try this stall! Hope it suits your taste buds.

Signage’s says “#1 Ang Gu Kueh in Singapore since 1988” . 3 boxes for $10, 4 boxes for $12. Most boxes have 2 pieces each, premium ones only 1 piece.

I was attracted by the colourful kuehs and have decided to buy some to try out for this afternoon tea break.

. I am excited to try out the pistachio fillings one which is the light green colour also as usually my favorite peanuts fillings Ang Ku Kueh.

The skin is indeed really good !!!! very thin, and soft!!! The fillings are packed & very flavourful !!! Love the premium pistachio angkukueh as well as the red peanut one.

Really One of the best ang ku kueh in Singapore.!!! You can try

Wow wow wow, don’t be deceived by its plain look ! Every dumpling is very savoury! The fillings are very fresh and juicy! Love the thin skin texture too, double thumbs up

When they served me, i see only a plate of fried noodles with fried lards, red-cut chilli

& a lime

. I asked myself “ Eh… don’t tell me small size means no prawns and sotong…”

After squeezing the lime, I found the “hidden” prawns

& sotong!!!

A little chat with the male staff. This stall is affiliated to famous curry puff stall

at Hong Lim: Tanglin Curry Puffs since 1952.

Ordered 2. One Chicken Potato with egg & the other Sardine Potato (the one with red dot

). Packed into a brown paper bag.

I was very lucky, I reached about 8am when the stall churned out hot hot hot

curry puff. You know I love food that are served hot.

If you google

Hong Lim curry puffs, you can find some family dispute & “which is original stall” stuff, which are pretty common to famous food stalls.

Most of us won’t really bother about these

. Most importantly, whether the curry puffs we get from this stall are nice !!! The ones in our hands!

i was roaming around deciding what to eat. The crowd in front of the stall caught my attention. Ok, I shall try tom yum noodle soup tonight since I had rice for lunch.

There are two kinds of ingredients you can pick, one category is for you to put into soup, another category will be deep fried and put into a separate bowl.

The tom yum soup is very power! Abit overwhelming for me! But tom yum soup should be like this, quite salty & spicy & sour

The deep fried yong tau fu are very well done. Savoury. Think this is the differentiation between this stall and other usual yong taufu stalls

Super Nice Pineapple Tarts. You just cannot stop at one !!! Lena’s friend ordered 6 containers, took bus back home. By the time, she reached home, she only had got 5 containers left !!! SHE FINISHED ONE WHOLE CONTAINER on her bus trip !!!!

The story goes back 30+ years ago when Lena help out in her Mama’s Bakery shop in Boon Keng. She was only Sec 1 when she got her hands on baking and make aromatic tarts and biscuits.

Her Mama had a lot of Indonesian friends and travelled to Jakarta to learn from bakery Shifus the unique skills of baking Super Nice Pineapple Tarts. The Pineapple tarts are shaped like “beehives”, and these help to keep the tart fresh and their shelf life longer without preservatives.

Lena says Pineapple tarts at her mama shop was and is the Best !!! LIMITED QUANTITY PRODUCTION, WHILE STOCK LASTS.

This Hokkein Mee was recommended by one of our fellow member who commented on the new stall some time back. Ah Huat Hokkein Prawn Mee is located @ 308C Punggol Walk S(823308) , next to Sumang LRT. Opening hours: 9am to 8pm.

Nowadays I don’t always eat Fried Hokkein Prawn

Noodles. Need to be more health conscious as already young Senior.

But Hokkein Mee is still one of my son’s favourite. Today, he is at home, so thought of Taobao from him. So got an excuse to eat

We ordered two $6 plates of Hokkein

Mee (only one size). One plate came with 2 prawns and another 3 prawns

that got one extra prawn。

This version of Hokkein Prawn Noodle is the dry version, no gravy when served. Very flavourful, the broth is infused into the noodles and thin beehoon, Nice

My first time in this vegetarian restaurant. Really nice plant-based vegetarian meal (4pax).

All dishes are good. Personally I love the dumplings 红油抄手, looks ordinary, but yummy in mouth. My wife & friend likes the satay & Chye Por Hor fun. They say didn’t know vegetarian cuisine got such nice satay!

Everyone has their own favourite Bak Chor Mee BCM, and this has to be one of the best minced meat noodles in Punggol !

Everything about this bowl of BCM, the savoury sauce & chilli, the Mee Pok noodle texture , the minced meat, the thickness of the pork slices (not over cooked) , the mushroom, the fried wanton, the Big meat ball in the soup ! In my personal experience, it was great!

One more thing, I love their dang cai 冬菜, a kind of salted preserved vege, usually a favourite for Teochews 潮州人。

And their pork lards are very crispy. Usually I will skip them as I am aging, today I devoured them 🤣

I had ate at this stall when they were at 312A foodcourt. They shifted to 308C Punggol Walk a few years ago.

I arrived today Monday at about 8.45am after a walk. The person in front of me tabao 22 packets of BCM !!! At first I was told to wait, then the elderly kind auntie who helms the cooking said she will cook for me in 10 minutes as I ordered only 1 bowl.

The big meatball in the soup is really good! Can add extra order if you want. Quite rare to find these kind of meatballs nowadays, especially in Punggol.

Can try their Lor Mee too, it is also very nice 👍👍.

Heard the elderly might have plans to retire, so come try asap…before you missed them

I wanted to order 3 types of kuehs: Ku Chye, Soon Kueh & Png Kueh.

Png was sold out, so I replaced it with 2 Chwee Kueh

Chatted with the auntie stall owner in Teochew.

She opens her stall here @ 6.30am, daily. Half day work. Almost everything , they made by themselves including the chilli and dark sauce.

She said the Ku Chye & Soon Kueh skin can be even thinner, but if it is too thin, it tends to tear and cannot sell.

We talked about Soon Kueh using real Soon (Bamboo shoots)….that will be expensive…they don’t do it anymore.

The chat was suddenly cut short as i realised that a small queue had formed behind me

The uncles and aunty in front of me ordered their chee cheong fun + chwee kueh.

But I think their mini Png Kueh is the real hot favourite! It was sold out when I order.

Not sure if they have very limited supply. I came previously , Png Kueh was sold out too. Haha, one day… I will come at 6.30am.

This Mee Pok is nice, chilli sedup .

One of my favourite choice in Punggol for breakfast. Usually I will order their signature porridge that comes with deep fried pig intestines. Beneath the surface are savoury ingredients like cuttle fish, fish slices, minced pork balls. Sometimes I will tabao their Fried Bee Hoon ! Really Nice 炒米粉！

Ordered XO 炸鱼肉米粉 Fried Fish Meat Bee Hoon. Very Nice. This was recommended by my wife. We have patronised this Zichar stall for many many years. My favourite is their signature 咸鱼白米粉，三捞河粉，虾酱鸡 etc.

My wife recently tried one of their other signature: XO 炸鱼肉米粉 . I have not tried this as it was priced $7.50 and I eat fish soup at other stall.

Saw my wife tabao back a few times and she said many people ordered this XO fried fish meat bee hoon while she was ordering.

When I was in the queue ordering, I heard the lady in front of me also ordered this dish. And their signage that displays their business hours, also has this XO 魚头米粉。My wife prefer the 炸鱼肉than 鱼头, and by default, she said they will serve with milk.

Wow Wow Wow, I found about 6 large pieces of fried fish meat. Soup is very nice

, bee hoon smooth. Worth the calories!!! Value for money!

Imo, this Zichar stall is one of the best in Sengkang.

On the way back after breakfast, my client wanted to Taobao 面煎粿for his wife from Lor Ah Soo Hawker. (Old lovely couple

I told him Punggol also have very good 面煎粿 , and brought him to this pancake stall in 312A Sumang! I told him that this petite lady chef is the disciple of her auntie in Lor Ah Soo Hawker. This master disciple has many years of experience under her belt and has operated at this same 312A Sumang stall for many years single-handedly.

If you notice carefully, this stall in Punggol has more varieties: cheese, egg pancakes and many other modern flavour as the customer demographics in Punggol are younger.

Besides hot hot hot pancakes, her 银魚粥 silver fish porridge and Cheng Tng are also very popular.

梅菜扣肉锅Braised Pork Mini Hotpot. Saw a couple enjoying these 2 mini hotpots at the food court. Ehhh… never seen these before, I asked them for details and where to buy.

One is the Pig Trotters & the other is Braised pork Ribs mini hotpot. Looks good. I asked them for permission to take photos!

Looks really good. Anyone tried? They served various Pig Organ’s dishes including soup and porridge.

I checked with my wife. There is no price list, when u order, then they give a total amount ($28 for 2 lattes, one big glass of beetroot juice, rendang rice and abacus seeds).

Then you donate (pay) into a donation box. She said they didn’t check how much you put.

I was just looking around, and the crowd at this stall attracted my eyes, I looked at the menu and I just ordered what came to my mind, based on the signage.

Not the version of Xinghua Bee Hoon I used to eat, but quite Nice. Prawns

Pig Liver Minced Meat Chilli Mee Pok. i chose 6a on the menu. $5.80 Dry version is 50cents priced higher than soup version $5.30. The staff prepares the pig liver last, and he asked me on the doneness of the pig liver. I told him not too over cooked & not too raw, just nice

The chilli

is quite hot. Besides the liver, the chilli is the main character of this dish.

For Pig Liver lovers, you can try 8a on their signboard menu. I confirm with the staff and he says this stall is operating 24hours!

Very nice 酸菜烤鱼 Sauerkraut Grilled Fish at Buangkok Hawker Centre. We were eating with a friend.

He said my photo will not do justice to the large grilled fish and the giant bowl, so we took it with a hand for some size comparison.

We also order 2 veges: 大爆大头菜 & 油麦菜。

Very big portions too !!! And Very nicely cooked! The chef should be the award winning man on the stall main signage.

I watched the chef cook, very experienced indeed

First thing i eat after coming back to Singapore from my Scandic holidays is Fishball Mee Pok, chilli dry.

Shoik!!!

Lixin is famous for their fishball, made with 100% yellowtail fish. Their fishballs are soft and flavourful.I love their kyaws (fish dumplings) too! 古早的味道.

Authentic Sarawak Noodles with fiery homemade red chilli. Flavourful curly springy pale noodles, coupled with tasty minced meat and several slices of char siew.

The pale yellow colour of the noodle is attributed to the fact that Only Egg Whites are used in the noodle production process. It curls and really look like instant noodle, but definitely more flavourful and more springy texture. Unlike normal yellow noodle, it doesn’t have the “Kngee Bee” (alkali taste).

I went to tabao at the physical store at 350A Anchorvale. The tabao packaging may look really small at the first glance. However, after unpack into a bowl, the portion is quite okay.

Ordered 1,2 & 5 on my first visit. It is tasted really good and I ordered the same signature dishes for my clients to try.

Add 3 & 4 as we had 4 pax. Both dishes 3 & 4 are also really good. My client also commented that even 5) plain white rice was fragrant & tasted good.

Today I noticed that there are only two chef’s hat logo on the menu!

One is this Ban Mian and the other is their Handmade Chives Dumplings!

So, I decided to try their signature Fragrant Dry Chilli Ban Mian 干捞辣椒板面. Yum Yum，very nice.

The red chilli looks really hot , in fact, it is milder.

The must-order is their 三杯鸡 3 Cups Chicken. This dish at some other restaurants are more “liquid”. Here, this 三杯鸡 is Dry & sauce caramelised, served in hot Claypot.

We enjoyed this “dry” version of 三杯鸡 a lot.

Also the black pepper crab, perfect masterpiece. When we placed our order, they are left with only one crab! The counter lady receives lots of delivery orders…at the same time. So if you want to eat or order at this stall, do order earlier…

The chef handling this few dishes is a master. Including the plain looking Vege nai bai, comes with lots of wok hei.

This is one of the best Cze Cha in Punggol

I made a special trip to this stall last week at 6.30+pm before they closed at 7pm. I ordered a $4 plate , add hum (cockles). To my dismay, I was told “No more hum!!!” . I hesitated for 2 seconds whether I should proceed to eat Char Kway Teow without harm (hum). .

In the end, I didn’t . I left the stall unwillingly with the craving unfulfilled. I had Cze cha instead. By then it was about 7+pm.

Saw Mr Tan (Master Chef of Armenian Street Char Kway Teow) at the roadside beside the foodcourt. Had a little chitchat with him.

Haha… I asked him why no enough hum??? Haha…. He said he don’t order alot as he wanted to keep the hums as fresh as possible! Usually should have enough. However, on some days, there are more customers wanting to add extra hum to their Char Kway Teow (like me ). So they will run out of hums towards the end of the day.

I also told Mr Tan that I saw the MediaCorp TV programme featuring Mr Tan teaching his Char Kway Teow gongfu secret recipe to 2 selected disciples in a hawker challenge. Haha..abit controversial, I also support Mr Tan’s decision for the winner. Anyone watched it?

Today, I was around this area, so the Char Kway Teow crave brought me back to this stall. The first thing is asked” Got hum or not?” .

Hahaha… CKT craving fulfilled!!! Very nice. The wok hei, the lard, the hums, the Lup Cheong, the taste etc…. Heard hums were larger yesterday, but it is still a perfect Char Kway Teow for me !!! .

Mr Tan still helms the Wok personally for Armenian Street Char Kway Teow at Blk 303 Anchorvale! Many Decades and thousands & thousands plates of Char Kway Teow frying, every plate he dishes out from the wok is a masterpiece!!!

You can see Mr Tan & his mum at his old stall in 2001 before they shifted from Armenian Street to Blk 303 Anchorvale coffeeshop in Sengkang. About 20years ago. Wah so youthful!!! . 仔细看看，他站在妈妈旁边，他也蛮像妈妈的！妈妈依然还是亚美尼亚街炒粿條活招牌！

Everyone has their own version of their favourite Char Kway Teow. Mr Tan’s version is definitely a A+ distinction for me ! The Best in Sengkang & Punggol.

Very hard working, single handedly managing the stall. When I was there, a lady customer specially come to her stall to chat with this demure iron lady .

Today, I ordered 4 times from her stall. 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣.

1️⃣ The lady owner told me her new item on her menu is the ikan billis peanut porridge 花生银鱼粥 $1.80. So the first item I ordered was the porridge. I told her I will be back later for her signature Mee Chiam Kuay as I love food that is steaming hot hot hot ! .

The ikan billis porridge is very nice . Very suitable for those who want just a light healthy nutritious breakfast, not too heavy. It goes well for kids and elderly too. (only available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday). Odd days! And I am lucky today! It’s Wednesday! ☘️

If you are like me, after having this porridge, you still have room for other goodies . Especially I just expended a lot of energy cycling ‍♂️.

Went back to her 2️⃣ to order her signature pancakes Mee Chiam Kuay. There are so many choices of fillings. I decided to go for the traditional peanut and coconut. One each. She skilfully crafted my 2 pancakes from scratch. By the way, she has years and years of experience in pancake making! That is why I called her pancake master. Every piece is a masterpiece. .

While waiting for her pancakes, an elderly lady asked me, “ Is the 银耳清汤 white fungus dessert sweet or not? “. Hmmm I told her “ Should be sweet but you better ask the owner…”

I devoured the peanut & coconut pancakes. By this time, my stomach was fully satisfied. I was thinking of ordering my Teh O Kosong when I saw the elderly lady eating her white fungus dessert.

I thought of tabao-ing back the white fungus dessert. Aiya, why not I just skip tea and go the white fungus dessert now. .

So, I went back to her for the 3️⃣ third time. Her White Fungus Cheng Tng 银耳清汤is very nice. Packed with ingredients. I noticed she even take out the seeds of the red dates or she used seedless red dates.

In the end, I went back to her for the 4️⃣ fourth time. To tabao 2packets of white fungus dessert for my family.

Btw, you saw the little lucky cat at her stall, it was given by her customer. I m sure it will bring her good luck .

I certainly found 4 little food happiness today.

This stall serves the type of laksa gravy that I would finish the whole bowl of gravy IF I am younger !!! One of the best Laksa in Sengkang!

With age, I have jammed the brakes!!!

. I only take a few spoonfuls

Food is important, Health is also important, so take lesser and exercise more

. If too healthy, then all food will be not so interesting.

. Need to strike a balance

The staff volunteered to replace one for me. And it arrived in another steam basket with only one Xiao Long Bao inside.
