[END of Loop]

Total distance about 50km loop. If you do it at a relax pace of 15km/hour. You probably can finish this loop (non-stop🚀) within 3-4hours.

If you add in MacRitchie tour, multiple Food & drinks stops , and Korean BBQ 🤣….and photo taking, you probably need 6-8hours to complete the mini round loop. 🤣.

For us, we took 10 hours. We start at 7am, end at 5pm. Longer due to rain! We cycled much slower as Pcn & pavements were wet slippery. And Rain was quite heavy! Raindrops falling…and vision is not clear…Raining cats 🐈 & dogs 🐶 落汤鸡😂😂😂 (our first time wearing waterproof wind breaker while cycling in the rain, usually we will wait for rain to stop ).

Here are the time stamps for your reference if you want to take similar cycling route. (Rainwear optional now. Dec to early jan was rainy 🌦🌧)

We began at 7am from Sengkang Swimming Complex. (You can reach Sengkang Sports Complex from Punggol via PCN).

Just ride along PCN (Punggol Park Connector) and you will reach Gerald Drive Area.

You can push up your bike near the Shell Station to Yio Chu Kang Road.  Then Turn into PCN (Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 Park Connector.  Just continue straight all the way.  You will first go under the CTE expressway to reach ITE College Central (ITE Headquarters)…then Nanyang Polytechnic and Anderson Serangoon Junior College.

If you are hungry for breakfast, you can make a detour at Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 (after you pass ITE College Central) to 527 Ang Mo Kio Cheng San Hawker Centre.  You can get good halal and non-halal food at very affordable prices.

527 Ang Mo Kio Cheng San Hawker Centre

For non-halal foodie, you can go for this Song Kee fishball noodles which have very big Fishballs or the Shredded Chicken Noodle with super nice wantons next stall (Long queue)

After Anderson Serangoon Junior College, Turn into Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 ( Ang Mo Kio Park Connector) and go straight all the way.  You will cycle pass Marymount Community Club and then you reach Marymount MRT.  Note that there is alot of construction ongoing at the point of writing, it is still okay to ride as they have created a path for pedestrian and cyclist. Do ride slow and be careful.

After Marymount CC and Marymount MRT, you will reach an underpass (under Lornie Road) to go through to the other side (near Westlake Ave road) then follow the path and you will reach Macritchie Reservoir ParkWe reached MacRitchie at 9am.

Left MacRitchie around 10am and it started to rain 🌧. We put on our rainwear and continue…

Just follow the PCN directional signs on the PCN.  After Sime Road , you will have to push your bike up a long Overhead Bridge (to cross over Lornie Highway to the other side) and just follow Kheam Hock Road and there is a tunnel under PIE expressway to reach Kheam Hock Park.   Just follow the PCN signs to turn into the PCN that leads to Adam Road.  This is part of the Coast-To-Coast Trail. You can stop at Adam Hawker Centre for break or snack. We reach Adam Rd Hawker for drink at 10.45am. We bought Soursop drink!  Very nice ! From Adam Hawker Centre, we cycled non-stop along Bukit Timah Rd and Upper Bukit Timah Road.

Instead of the path we took above, you can actually go straight towards Beauty World MRT and pass by Chun Tin Road (Food Area too). [I tried it when I cycled this route the second time in the reverse manner, I find it safer if you have kids or inexperienced cyclists in the group).    I decided to take the above as it is less congested.  Both ways also okay.  Just be careful with the traffic and make adjustments as there are constructions around this area as well.

after that it is pretty straightforward, just continue cycling until Hillview Road, where we made a detour again for food at Hill V2 😉We reached HillV2 at 12.30pm. We chose Choga Korean Restaurant as we were very hungry at that point in time ;).  Love their delicious side dishes. And you are entitled for an extra round of re-fill 😉

Finished Korean BBQ lunch at 1.15pm. Resumed cycling in the rain 🌧.   After Bukit Panjang MRT, you will pass by Junction Ten (The Tennry).  Turn into PCN Pang Sua Park Connector.Turn out at Stagmont Ring Road, and continue cycling along Woodlands Road.  You will pass by a prominent  Car Truck Tyre Shop,  Sungei Kadut Industrial Estate and Porsche & Supercars, Rolls Royce Showrooms.  You will be cycling mostly on road pavements at this stretch.  Just be careful at the traffic junctions as there are many truck and heavy vehicles here. From Woodlands Road, make a turn into Mandai Road, you can make a pit-stop at Shell Station.  Buy the drinks and go for toilet breaks as after this will be the super long Mandai Road , with no shops or amenities.
It is only you and your bicycle, there are steep up slopes and down slopes, and it is where your leg muscles get trained.  Do change your gears to lower gears for up slopes and control your speed when it is down slope.  Control your speed as some of the surfaces are uneven and some parts has got algae.

So, just be careful and cycle safely.    It is very safe, just dont over speed. You will pass the Zoo ;). We reached Mandai Zoo Entrance at 2.30pm Arrived Lower Seletar Reservoir (Lentor Ave) at 3.30pm.  Rain stopped at 3.45pm 🌤while we were at Yio Chu Kang Rd. Reached GreenWich Shopping Mall at 4.15pm, got some drinks. And finally completing the loop at about 5pm. 🥳🚲🚲🚲

Total distance about 50km loop. Relax pace of 15km/hour, you probably can finish this loop (non-stop🚀) around 4hours.

Enjoy!     This blog post is only a guide to explore the various pcn, do ride carefully and make adjustments to the route according to safety and circumstances.   From here, you can connect to various pcn and cycle to various parts of Singapore.
