Authentic Sarawak Noodles with homemade red chilli. Flavourful curly springy pale noodles, coupled with tasty minced meat and several slices of char siew.

The pale yellow colour of the noodle is attributed to the fact that Only Egg Whites are used in the noodle production process. It curls and really look like instant noodle, but definitely more fragrant and more springy texture. Unlike normal yellow noodle, it doesn’t have the “Kngee Bee” (alkali taste).

I went to tabao at the physical store at 350A Anchorvale. They are available on Grab food.

Their main stall is at Haig Road Hawker Centre, where they serve Sarawak Laksa too.

Their Kolo Mee packaging is only a simple plastic sheet, wrapped and tied at the top. For those who buy at their physical store at 350 Anchorvale, they don’t charge additional 20 cents for take-away.

The tabao packaging of Kolo Mee may look really small at the first glance. However, after unpack into a bowl, the portion is quite okay.

Unwrapping the Kolo Mee…you see all the ingredients all at once and the fragrant aroma immediately hit your sense of smell.  Mixture of red chilli and shallot oil, spring onion and soy sauce. Yummy.

Kolo Mee, curly springy pale noodles is the star. Tasty marinated minced meat and char siew.  Making sure that the chilli and all the ingredient are well mixed.  Chilli is quite fiery, so for those who are not used to spicy stuff, do scoop them aside.

The pale coloured noodles look bland, but it is really flavourful, it seemed that it has absorbed the “zup” of the minced meat. And the fiery homemade red chilli is spicy hot and adds a new dimension to the overall Kolo Mee taste . Yummy !
