In July 2016, Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle located at Stall 126 at Chinatown Complex Market was awarded a Michelin star. A First in the renowned Michelin Food Guide’s history that an Asian hawker has been awarded the coveted star . Hawker Chan is a spin-off of hawker stall Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle. Since then, they have opened 3 Hawker Chan restaurant outlets in Singapore and 1 overseas outlet in Melbourne Australia.
Owner Malaysian chef Chan Hong Meng learnt his Cantonese Culinary Cooking Skills while working under a Hong Kong Chef. Beside his famous Soya Sauce Chicken, his Char Siew, Roasted Pork and Pork Ribs are also very good.
